London Helps

He had a,
Tough day,
Those types,
Of days,
Happen,
Sometimes,
He’s just,
Sat on,
The couch,
Having,
A beer,
Looking for,
Something,
To watch,
And then,
London,
Hops up,
On the couch,
And makes,
Her way,
Onto his lap,
He has to put,
Down his beer,
And London,
Just wants,
Some pets,
And to,
Be held,
And to,
Connect,
And he’s,
Holding this,
London,
For a few minutes,
And before,
He knows it,
All the frustrations,
Of the day,
Have melted away.

Requiem for Special Occasions

At the,
Liquor store,
Just getting,
A few items,
Waiting in line,
To pay,
Shouldn’t be long,
And then he,
Hears someone speaking,
It’s the guy,
Behind him,
It sounds like,
The guy,
Behind him,
Is trying to,
Have a,
Quick chat,
And then he,
Hears what,
The guy,
Behind him,
Is asking,
Hey man,
What’s the,
Special occasion,
The guy asks,
And at that point,
He turns around,
To glance,
At this person,
Who is,
Obviously,
Quite special,
Unable to answer,
He’s looking,
The guy behind him over,
The dude,
Is holding a six pack,
Of Bud Light,
Probably thirty,
Years old,
Way too old,
To be asking,
Questions,
Like that.

A Writer Remembers

Remembering,
When he,
Used to,
Read the,
Comments,
After his,
Articles,
Were published,
Feels like,
Someone else’s life.
